What this site is

An independent publication about 3D printers, written for people buying their first one. We publish research, comparisons and guidance, and we earn a commission when readers buy through our links.

What this site is not

  • A retailer. We hold no stock, take no payment, ship nothing and process no returns. Every purchase is a contract between you and the retailer.
  • A manufacturer or a warranty provider. Warranty claims go to the manufacturer.
  • A testing laboratory. We have not printed on the machines on this site and we say so on every page that recommends one. See how we pick.
  • A source of professional advice. Nothing here is engineering, legal, medical or financial advice.

Accuracy

We take accuracy seriously. Every specification is read from a manufacturer’s own documentation and cited with the date it was read, and every number we compute shows its inputs.

Even so, manufacturers revise specifications, products change, and mistakes happen. We provide this site on an “as is” basis and make no warranty that every detail is current or error-free. Always check the manufacturer’s own page and the retailer’s listing before you buy, and tell us if you find something wrong — we will fix it and note what changed.

Prices

Prices shown on this site come from a live data layer and are stamped with the date retrieved. They may be out of date by the time you read them. Where we do not hold a current price, no price is shown. The retailer’s own page is always the authority.

Safety

This is the section worth reading properly, because 3D printers are machines rather than appliances.

  • Nozzles reach around 300 °C and heated beds reach 80 to 100 °C on the machines discussed here. Both will burn you.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety guidance for your specific machine. Where they conflict with anything on this site, follow the manufacturer.
  • Print in a suitable space: a solid non-flammable surface, clear of clutter, with a working smoke alarm in the room.
  • Materials other than PLA may need ventilation. Resin printing requires gloves, ventilation and correct waste disposal — uncured resin is an irritant and should not go down a drain.
  • Supervise children. Printed objects can be small enough to be a choking hazard for very young children.
  • Do not print items intended for prolonged food contact, dishwasher use, or any load-bearing or safety-critical application on the basis of anything written here.

You operate your equipment at your own risk. We accept no liability for damage, injury or loss arising from use of the information on this site.
